European Masters Course in Integrated Advanced Ship Design (EMSHIP)
The objective of the EMSHIP education platform is to provide a high education level in Naval Architecture and Ship & Offshore Design, through 2 years Master Courses.
EMSHIP gives the opportunity to candidates to demonstrate their talents and offer them the necessary skills to work in this challenging industry.
EMSHIP Added Values:
- Two engineering degrees (double degree) awarded by two European countries (Belgium and Germany, France or Poland), giving in Europe access to the Title of Engineer;
- Mobility in minimum two EU countries, with a possibility of Internship in a 3rd one (Italy, Romania, UK and France, but also worldwide in Japan, USA, Australia, Korea, Brazil, ….)
- High diversity of specialization: Pleasure craft (Solent, UK) , yacht design (UNIGE, Italy), CFD and hydrodynamics (ICAM-France, UGAL Romania), Offshore structures, Production, Ship design, Structures, …
- Full English education, with opportunity to learn French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, …
- INTERNSHIP in Industry - shipyard, class. Societies, … (3 to 5 months)

Cost:
<p>EMSHIP M120 tuition fees for the 2 years are the following: </p> <ul> <li>EU applicants: 1.500 EURO. (per year)</li> <li>Non-EU applicants: 6.000 EURO. (per year)</li> </ul> <p>For the next cohort (September 2019) no Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be available. Such full scholarships should be available from September 2020 (to be confirmed). </p> <p>Other scholarships:</p> <ul> <li>Consortium scholarships</li> <li>Academic scholarships</li> <li>EU mobility Grant</li> </ul> <p> </p>
Prerequisites:
This Master is open to students having at least a bachelor in 3 years (180 credits), but there are some prerequisites. Of course students having bachelor in 4 or 5 years, or students with a master degree are also welcome, but similarly, the same prerequisites apply.
English practice is mandatory as all the lectures are in English.
Application Procedure:
Please find below main documents to be provided for EMSHIP application:
- Nationality certificate dated of the year of the registration issued by the local municipal authority, Embassy, consulate, Justice Minister, or a copy of the passport;
- Copy of your Secondary School Diploma translated in English or French;
- Copies, certified or authenticated by the institution attended (or by the EMSHIP institution in which you are studying at the moment), of your higher education studies diploma and a transcript of record with a translation (by a sworn translator) into English or French;
- Exhaustive list of lectures (if possible with a short summary or a link to a website). See prerequisites
- A summary of your final dissertation (Bachelor or Master Thesis; if done) in French or English and a copy of the contents page;
- An English Proficiency (Toefl, Ielts, proof that English was your previous education language any other document stating your English proficiency);
- Please provide, year by year, official documents for the past five years if they are not covered by your last diploma (Official declaration of enrolment for higher education or university studies, original employment certificate - specifying occupation start and end dates, declaration of military service). Translation in English or French if they are not
- Two Recommendation letters in English.
In principle all copies have to be sworn. Therefore, simple translations can be accepted, but once in Belgium you will have to prove the original documents. That is why it is useful to upload sworn copies.

Grant Opportunities:
- European Commission scholarships: 8 Scholarships for Non-European candidates.
- Consortium scholarships: for EU and NON EU candidates. The number and amount of scholarships will be fixed according to the number of students registered and their nationality. It will be distributed according of their CV and their motivation
- Industrial scholarships: provided by Emship industrial partners - shipyards, ship designers, classification societies, manufacturers, ship-owners, operators, etc.(3 students per cycle)
- Scholarships from Liege University: for EU and non EU students
- Academic scholarships: for excellent and good applicants
