The duration of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme in Environmental Protection is three years (180 ECTS credits), and according to the Bologna educational scheme this represents the third cycle of education. The programme consists of organised classes (60 credits) and individual research work for the doctoral thesis (120 credits).

Prerequisites:
Candidates for the INterdisciplinary Doctoral Programme in Environmental Protection are graduates of second cycle education. All information can be found here

Candidates submit their enrolment applications online via the eVŠ web portal at http://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/

Completed enrolment application form must be printed, signed and sent by registered post with all the supplemental documents by the application deadline September 21st 2016 at the latest to University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 12, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia (reference »for ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION«).
The documentation can be also personally delivered to the University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 12, 1000 Ljubljana from Monday to Friday 7.-00 - 15.00 .
Required evidence to be sent by post :
1. Diploma (Copy of the Diploma in evidence of completed education)
2. Diploma supplement or Transcripts of records (Copy of the diploma supplement or Copies of official transcripts of records)
3. Decision on nostrification (for candidates who are in a position of nostrification decision, more information: https://www.uni-lj.si/study/useful_information/recognition_of_foreign_ed...)
Additional evidence to be sent by post (relevant for selection of candidates):
1. Award(s) and/or Achievements (evidence of award(s) and/or decorations during study and/or evidence of previous scientific/ research work)
2. Proposal of the research topic (the candidate on max two A4 pages shortly presents the research problem that is intended to further research, states the hypothesis and research method(s) and writes at least five sources related to the research topic)
3. Consent of the mentor and consent of the co-mentor (prior to the enrolment to the programme candidates are requested to choose the mentor and co-mentor and submit upon enrolment at the latest the mentor’s and co-mentor`s written acceptance of mentorship and co-mentorship.

The application deadlines are different for every study programme and are specified in the call for enrolment for each doctoral study programme separately (expected by the end of the August). Scholarships for Slovenians abroad are granted by the Slovene human resources development and scholarship fund. Scholarships are granted for study at accredited public education institution at an accredited study programme in the Republic of Slovenia. The Fund publishes open calls for applications defining the requirements for granting scholarships and the amounts of grants.
Zois scholarships are available for foreign citizens with evidence of a status as stipulated by the Slovenian legislation (EU citizenship with at least 5-year preliminary residence, an EU migrant worker or an EU frontier worker in the Republic of Slovenia or a family member of that person, or a long-term resident). The Fund publishes an open call defining all requirements, procedures and the amount of scholarship grants.
Every year, the Fund also publishes the number of available scholarships for foreign citizens who are not ranked in the aforementioned group. Calls differ and may limit the degree or field of education, the scholarship recipients’ country of origin and similar. The Fund publishes the calls on its website.
