The MSc Watermanagement is a track within the MSc Civil Engineering. The MSc Civil Engineering - track Watermanagement, is a Campus MSc as well as an Online MSc. Each online course is given parallel to the Campus course, within the same period, ending with Exams together with Campus students. The MSc track Watermanagement is conducted in the English language as all MSc programs of Delft University of Technology. The MSc programme comprises a total of 120 ECTS, within a two years’ timeframe, consisting of 4 parts:
- Common programme
- Watermanagement specialisation courses
- Two out of four (Traineeship, Muli–disciplinary project, additional thesis or elective courses)
- MSc thesis
Each Online course is given parallel to the Campus course, within the same period, ending with Exams together with Campus students. All lectures of the Campus course are recorded as web-lecture (Collegerama) and will be available in Blackboard within 48 hours, together with all reading material, assignments, tests etc. Online MSc students have to be in Delft in week 9 and 10 of a period, for educational activities which are not (yet) available online, for meeting other students and staff, and for Exams.
The common programme includes a compulsory course for all MSc Civil Engineering students and the common courses for all Watermanagement students. The common courses provide a broad basis across the Watermanagement work fields of Hydrology, Water Resources Management and Sanitary engineering. All Watermanagement common courses are conducted in the first period of the academic year. Consequently students do not need to decide on their specialisation right at the start of their MSc, but can contemplate their interest during period 1.
The MSc-track Watermanagement consists of 6 specialisations:
- Hydrology
- Geohydrology
- Water resource management
- Urban drainage and watermanagement
- Drinking water engineering
- Wastewater treatment
The MSc track Watermanagement is conducted in the English language as all MSc programs of Delft University of Technology.

Prerequisites:
International students, who are in possession of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, comparable with the Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering of TU Delft, may be admitted to the Master of Civil Engineering. A proof of English language proficiency is also necessary:
- TOEFL: with an overall band score of at least 90 (internet-based test). The university only accepts the TOEFL internet-based test.
- or IELTS (academic version) with an overall Band score of at least 6.5.
- or proof that you have passed the University of Cambridge 'Certificate in Advanced English' or the University of Cambridge 'Certificate of Proficiency in English'.
Only nationals from the USA, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada are exempt from the proof of English language proficiency requirement. Applicants who obtained a bachelor’s degree in one of the mentioned countries, are also exempt from the proof of English language proficiency requirement.
