The Hydrogeology and Water Management MSc residential course provides you with the opportunity to enhance your knowledge of the nature, occurrence, characterisation and management of groundwater. This course provides theoretical and practical quantitative training relevant to the needs of the water and environmental engineering industries.

Most module information for 2020 entry will be available from the end of May 2020.
Individual modules can be taken as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Degree Requirements
A good second class honours degree, or international equivalent, in subjects such as: engineering, geography, environmental sciences, Earth sciences, mathematics, physics, geology, chemistry, computer sciences and geomatics. Applicants with different or non-standard qualifications will be considered on an individual basis, particularly if you have relevant industrial experience.
Language Requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-section), Pearson's PTE Academic Test 62, or equivalent.
Application Procedure:
You should ideally complete your application online. However, there are alternative application methods if you don't have access to a computer. For the online application you start by just registering and creating a user name and password. You can save the form as many times as you like before you submit it. Supporting documents include:
- Copies of certificates or transcripts to confirm your degree or highest qualification (translated if not in English)
- Personal Statement
- English language test certificates
- Copy of the personal details page from your passport (non EU applicants)
Application Deadline: there is no closing date for this course. We recommend that international students apply at least two months before the course starts in September so that you have enough time to make the necessary arrangements.
Deposit. If you live outside the UK/EU you must:
- pay a deposit of £1,500
- or submit an official letter of sponsorship
The deposit is payable after you receive an offer to study at Newcastle University. The deposit is non-refundable, but is deducted from your tuition fees when you register.
