General information
The Hydroinformatics MSc applies advanced information and communications technology to the management of the waters of the world. This course provides a quantitative training in hydrology, hydraulics and modern information communications technology (ICT) within the context of water management, preparing you for a career in hydroinformatics in the water sector.
The course begins with field visits to case studies in the north of England. These provide the stimulus and context for our formal teaching as well as an informal setting for you to get to know staff and fellow students.

Cost:
<p><strong>UK and EU:</strong> £6.000 full-time, £3.250 part-time<br /> <strong>International: </strong>£16.265</p> <p>Part-time fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis and include an annual administration fee. Degree Requirements
A good second class honours degree, 2:2 honours degree, or international equivalent, in subjects such as: engineering, geography, environmental sciences, Earth sciences, mathematics, physics, geology, chemistry, computer sciences and geomatics. Applicants with different or non-standard qualifications will be considered on an individual basis, particularly if you have relevant industrial experience.
Language Requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English normally require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-section), Pearson's PTE Academic Test 62, or equivalent.

You should ideally complete your application online. However, there are alternative application methods if you don't have access to a computer. For the online application you start by just registering and creating a user name and password. You can save the form as many times as you like before you submit it. Supporting documents include:
- Copies of certificates or transcripts to confirm your degree or highest qualification (translated if not in English)
- Personal Statement
- English language test certificates
- Copy of the personal details page from your passport (non EU applicants)
Application Deadline:applications are accepted up to the September before the course commences. We recommend that international students apply at least two months before the course starts in September so that you have enough time to make the necessary arrangements.
Deposit. If you live outside the UK/EU you must:
- pay a deposit of £1,500
- or submit an official letter of sponsorship
The deposit is payable after you receive an offer to study at Newcastle University. The deposit is non-refundable, but is deducted from your tuition fees when you register.
