Mestrado em Biotecnologia dos Recursos Marinhos
This Master Program aims at providing you with advanced training in the area of Biotechnology, with application to the Marine Resources, seeking to apply current knowledge of modern marine biology and biotechnology to the study, protection and development of marine resources.
The master is taught in English. However, academic material may be available both in English and Portuguese and students can choose to be assessed in one of those languages.
The first year provides a solid education in specific areas of marine biodiversity, biotechnology and entrepreneurship. In the second year you will undertake a project/dissertation/internship on a specific theme, enabling you to use and further develop professional and technical skills. The themes focus primarily on application of biotechnology to the fish, algae and other marine resources and exploitation of the sea and how it may have use in the food industry, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, among others.

Cost:

Prerequisites:
- Holders of an academic bachelor’s degree following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna process in the area of Marine Biology and Biotechnology, and related areas;
- Holders of a bachelor’s degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of a degree by the Scientific-Technical Council of ESTM in the area of marine biology and biotechnology or related areas;
- Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curricula who is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the Scientific-Technical Council of ESTM;
- English Language Proficiency.
Application Procedure:

- Printed and signed application form
- A signed and detailed Curriculum Vitae;
- Copy of ID document and VAT number;
- Copy of detailed academic certificate with date of graduation, degree awarded and final classification;
- Two colour passport style photos;
- Proof of payment of the application fee;
- Proof of legal address residence (only for non EUNationals legally residing in Portugal uninterruptedly for more than two years in 08.31.2015, and children who legally reside with them);
- Motivation letter, written in Portuguese or English.
