Why Maritime Management?
The Master of Science in Maritime Management program offers two alternative specializations, one technical and one commercial. The program is focused on important subjects within the context of the maritime industry. Some courses are addressing subjects which are fully maritime business related. Other courses are more generic in character. To some degree learning of management and leadership skills are addressed as specific topics. However, highest priority is given for the candidates to acquire a broad basis of knowledge and understanding of the important basic subjects as relevant for the maritime industry.
What kind of job will you get?
The industry, both in Norway and internationally, offers a great variety of jobs for candidates with a master degree in maritime management. The graduate candidates from the management program will be attractive for a wide range of companies such as shipowners, commercial management companies, financial institutions, insurance companies, shipping brokers, transportation and logistics companies, maritime equipment suppliers, shipbuilding and repair companies, engineering and contractor companies.

Collaboration with the industry
The Master of Maritime Management is a master program that was ordered from the maritime industry through a national program for maritime education and research. The industry was very active in developing the program and is still active participants as Professor IIs, guest lectures, company and yard visits and as supervisors. Also most master thesis is written in connection with industrial partners.
Study abroad
It is possible to include study abroad on the master program. However, this must be agreed with, and preapproved by, the faculty on an individual basis.
Further education
The graduate students will achieve a sound foundation for further doctoral degree studies (PhD) at universities all over the world.

Cost:
<p><strong>Finance</strong>. University College of Southeast Norway generally does not charge any tuition fees, but all students must pay a semester registration fee of up to 1000 NOK (110 Euros). If your are from outside EU/EEA and admitted to a program you must make a deposit in order to acquire a study permit.<br /> The deposit is meant to prove that you are able to cover your expences in Norway.</p>

Requirements for both specializations:
- A work-integrated educational program at bachelor level may qualify for admission provided that it contains minimum 120 ETCS credits specifically relevant for the program.
- It is also required that the applicant has completed the qualifying bachelor degree with an average grade level of C or better.
- Applicants to part-time alternative of the master must be full-time employed within the Nordic countries and qualified at date of application.
- Applicants from countries where an English test is required must pass one of the following tests:
- IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 (Academic test)
- TOFEL: minimum score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based) or 80 (internet based).
