General information

SCOPE: The Navigation Cluster course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Degree VII/14 and 15.

OBJECTIVE: Those who succesfully complete this course will be able to understand the principles of voyage planning using different navigation equipment. Exercises will be performed on a navigation simulator.

COURSE CONTENT:

  • Radar navigation;
  • Voyage planning including how to maintain safe passage;
  • Meteorology;
  • Position fixing;
  • organize bridgewatch;
  • Introduction in the use of ECDIS;
  • Emergencies at sea and emergency signals
