General information
In close cooperation with the Netherlands Food and consumer Product Safety Authority (former Dutch Plant Protection Services) and the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW), the Laboratory of Nematology is offering a series of nematology courses. Hands-on practical training is a key element in all courses offered; we aim to teach you to-do-it-yourself.
This is a a short intensive lecture series for those who are not familiar with the basics of molecular biology (preceding the Molecular Identification course). You will become acquainted with the meaning / ins and outs of essential notions such as genomes, DNA & DNA isolation, RNA, coding and non-coding DNA, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), cloning of DNA fragments, and quantitative DNA barcode-based nematode detection.
