The Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/1-4.
Course content:
- Knowledge of emergency procedures;
- Precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment;
- Safe working practices;
- Ability to understand orders and to communicate with others in relation to shipboard duties;
- Social responsibilities;
Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve a basic knowledge of the safety procedures, accident prevention and employment and working conditions on board merchant vessels.
