Dimension of questions asked in genetics had changed due to recent technologies (e.g. NGS). Moreover, full genome approaches can be done but are still expensive, while reduced libraries as RAD-sequencing are cheaper and have shown good performance. Understand how diversity is generated starting from splitting a lineage will explain how new species are generated and thus biodiversity worldwide. Furthermore, allopatric and sympatric speciation are very studied, the first one historically more studied than the second. The four phases of a continuum of speciation under-gene-flow explains how divergences genome-wide are increasing until reproductive isolation completely generated two new lineages. Two model species at opposite end of the evolutionary time scale allowed studying patterns in this continuum. Litoditis marina species complex and Ophthalmotilapia were chosen as older and earlier species model respectively. Patterns of divergence genome-wide are similar within each system model, but mechanism of reproductive isolation is different in regions of divergence in the studied species models.
