General information

Scope:

The SSO/CSO (Ship/Company Security Officer) course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/5. Taking the IMO Model Course 3.19 as a guideline.

Course content:

  • Understanding the ISPS Code;
  • Current maritime security Threats;
  • Ship Security Planning; Security measures required at each security level;
  • Ship Security Surveys and assessment;
  • Monitoring Ship Security;
  • Profiling and dealing with Stakeholders with interest in the vessel.
Objective:

Those who succesfully complete this course should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities of a Ship/Company Security Officer.
