Scope:
The SSO/CSO (Ship/Company Security Officer) course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/5. Taking the IMO Model Course 3.19 as a guideline.
Course content:
- Understanding the ISPS Code;
- Current maritime security Threats;
- Ship Security Planning; Security measures required at each security level;
- Ship Security Surveys and assessment;
- Monitoring Ship Security;
- Profiling and dealing with Stakeholders with interest in the vessel.
Those who succesfully complete this course should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities of a Ship/Company Security Officer.
