General information
The Workshop will focus on how to increase the impact of MATES outputs by applying knowledge transfer methodologies. It will include several practical exercises to apply the contents of the workshop on the design of the Pilot Experiences.
Agenda:
09:00 Registration and coffee
9:30 Welcome by AquaTT
9:45 Session 1: Introduction: What is impact?
- What is impact? Why is it important?
- What is the eventual impact of knowledge? Is it realistic within the project timeframe?
- How to measure impact of transfer and impact indicators for eventual impact?
- Short Practical Exercise – What impact do you want to achieve?
10.15 Session 2: How to write a Communication and Dissemination Plan
- What is a Communication and Dissemination Plan?
- What needs to/should be communicated? And to whom?
- What processes/media/tools could be used?
- Short Practical Exercise – What communication activities will you perform?
11:00 Coffee
11:15 Session 3: How to Collect and Analyse Knowledge within Projects
- What knowledge should be collected and in how much detail? How does this happen?
- What repositories are available to store Knowledge Outputs to ensure accessibility?
- Why is analysis the most important stage? Who should it involve? How should it be done?
- What should be the outcomes of the analysis process?
- Short Practical Exercise – What Knowledge Outputs will you produce?
12:30 Lunch
13.45 Session 4: How to Map a Pathway to Impact & Customised Knowledge Transfer Plans
- What is the difference between communication, dissemination and Knowledge Transfer?
- What is the difference between Target Users and End Users?
- How to map specific knowledge output pathways for units/clusters of knowledge?
- How to identify Target Users and design customised Knowledge Transfer Plans?
- Short Practical Exercise – What will you transfer, how and to whom?
15:00 Coffee
15:15 Session 5: Considering Eventual Impact in your Pilot Experience design (Practical Exercise)
- How could your communication/KT activities be better designed to ensure impact post-project?
- How would you change the end product to suit the end user, rather than the target user?
- How will you measure impact?
