General information

Scope:

The Basic Tanker Training (Oil, Chemicals and Gas) course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-V/1-1-1 and A-V/1-2-1. Taking the IMO Model Course 1.01 and 1.04 as a guideline.

Course content:

  • Characteristics of cargoes, toxicity and other hazards;
  • Hazard control;
  • Safety equipment and protection of personnel;
  • Pollution prevention;
  • Emergency operations;
  • Cargo equipment and other operational procedures.

Course dates: on demand

Objective:

Those who succesfully complete this course are able to serve on tankers to perform specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo and cargo equipment.
