MOL2: La cultura oceánica en el sector marítimo - Uso de bambú
Objective: Introduction to the different types of bamboo, and which of them may be used to build a raft.
Contents information
1.- Introduction to bamboo as a potential constructive element
2.- Why bamboo is a greener choice (is it sustainable to build with bamboo in a country where it is not native?)
3.- Bamboo ecological footprint (comparative with concrete, steel, wood, etc.)
4.- Analysis of the bamboo life cycle. Costs and comparison with other materials
5.- Cutting workshop: elaboration of parts and joints. Students will learn how to develop the elements and parts needed for the construction of a boat and connect those appropriately using tools and techniques.
An attendance certificate will be provided at the end of the workshop
